Cabbage Salad with Yogurt / Yoğurtlu Lahana Salatası

colesaw-saladThis is a very healthy salad. It is healthier than the standard version where you are supposed to add mayonnaise. This recipe replaces mayonnaise with plain yogurt. You don’t even feel the difference as it is not too much, considering the amount of cabbage.

The main work is to slice the cabbage as thin as possible. Frankly it doesn’t bother me to have the slices to thin or not so as you will notice mine have come out in various sizes. On the other hand if I had guests over then I would use a simple trick and make my slices using this kind of peeler:

When you are grating the carrot use the coarser side. Then mix well all the ingredients; and in no minute  your salad is ready. Enjoy

Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Cut the cabbage into half. Take out and discard the stiff stem part. Chop one half as thin as possible. Use other half for other purposes.
  2. First peel and then grate the carrot, using the coarser side of the grater.
  3. Put the chopped cabbage in a large mixing bowl. Then add all the remaining material on top. Mix really well.
  4. Keep in fridge and serve cold. Enjoy
