Hot Pate with Walnuts and Bread / Muhammara

Muhammara

This is really easy to prepare. Although sometimes you can make a mistake about the ingredients, it is easily correctable. My daughter has grown so fond of muhammara that I often have it available in the fridge. Yes, this is the best part. You can prepare it and keep it in a glass container for weeks.

This dish attributed to Caucasians and Eastern Turkey. In order to cope with the cold weather in these areas during winter. There it is consumed generally on a piece of bread, in the mornings.

You need to ground the walnuts. Some prefer to turn the walnuts to powder, but we prefer to feel the taste of the walnuts so if you are the same, to do not turn the walnuts into powder.

Wet the bread-about 3 thick slices, 100 grams with drinkable water. Then squezze out the water and discard. You can easily use a drainer. Put the wetted bread in a drainer and press down.

If in the end you end up with a too creamy texture, you can add some more bread – not wetted but grated this time. If you end up with a too dry texture, you can add some more olive oil.

The “hot” depends on your choices. Add more hot red pepper flakes if you want more hot.

Roast slices of bread and generously spread, you can choose to garnish with parsley.
